Placer County in Northern California offers 3 premiere communities specifically designed for the working, active adult: Sun City Lincoln Hills, Sun City Roseville and Springfield at Whitney Oaks. Each of these communities provides a standard of living that resonates … freedom, fun and easy living. There is something for everyone on all levels of involvement giving seniors many stimulating options within a peaceful, relaxed environment. As a resident of Lincoln Hills, I can speak from personal experience … It is wonderful to see so many active, responsive residents getting the most from life and so much more! It’s all about the lifestyle! I live in Lincoln Hills and love it!!
Sun City Lincoln Hills by Del Webb was developed by Del Webb in 1999 and in the final phases purchased by Pulte in 2003. It is the largest Active Adult community in Northern California with 6800 single family residences encompassing 2,370 acres. There are 38 different models ranging in size from approx 950 sf to 3100 sf all on individual, varying size lots many offering golf course and/or open space views! (Although the single family residents have sold out in 2006, there are a limited quantity of condos currently under construction with a completion slated for Spring of 2007.) What distinguishes LH from other Active Adult communities is the ideal location and visually interesting topography, challenge of the Casper-Nash 36 hole public golf course, breadth of community services and amenities, and the myriad of recreational activities that is the hallmark of Sun City developments throughout the country.
Proximity to cultural and seasonal activities 365 days of the year is one of the most appealing attributes of LH. Approximately 30 miles Northeast of downtown Sacramento, 25 miles from the Sacramento International Airport, 150 miles from San Francisco and Reno, 75 miles to Lake Tahoe and the Napa Valley – Elevation approximately 200’ above sea level. Residents appreciate and benefit from the “big town” services within a “small, home town” community. The Sierra and Sutter Butte mountain ranges are breathtaking especially seen from the community’s higher elevations. Delta breezes from the Sacramento River cools our hot summer days giving us deliciously inviting evening temperatures and spectacular sunsets!!
For those who enjoy the game of golf, or even those who don’t but welcome the visual delights of sprawling greens, the Casper-Nash designed Champion 36 hole course meanders throughout neighborhoods providing awesome views to all residents and dog walkers alike. The course intertwines open space acreage, where the ecosystem preserves provide a peaceful, safe sanctuary for our egrets, geese, blue heron, jack rabbits, and beaver residents. What’s more…The pro shop, driving range and putting green adjacent to the Orchard Creek Lodge together with Meridian Sports Bar will make the golfer’s day in between tee off!
For more information, go online to www.LincolnHillsGolfClub.com. There are several neighboring golf courses within proximity of LH. For example, Turkey Creek Golf Club, Twelve Bridges Golf Club, Timber Creek Golf Club are 3 other public courses that are popular golfing destinations along with 100+ golf courses in Northern California.
Since the completion of Sun City Lincoln Hills in 2006, there are now double the amenities and facilities offering LH residents combined 108,000 sf of state-of-the-art recreational and lifestyle amenities unsurpassed in the history of all Sun City developments!

Springfield at Whitney Oaks in the town of Rocklin is a planned active adult housing development with certain age restrictions. It is nestled in the beautiful oak studded foothills of the Sacramento Valley and offers the "small town" feel where neighbors are also friends. Springfield offers spectacular views of the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Sutter Buttes and the Sacramento Valley. Homes with magnificent views on private gated streets provide luxury and prestige.

The city of Rocklin is located near the Highway 80 corridor and; therefore, is a very convenient location. Right next door is Roseville so you can enjoy all of the amenities offered by both communities.

Four seasons (although mild) allow you to enjoy the splash of autumn colors, close by winter sports in the Sierras, spring flowers ablaze everywhere in the spring, summer fun with all the water sports on the many lakes and rivers. Even though you may never want to leave home, Lake Tahoe is a must see. The wonderful Gold Country and Highway 49 offer great day trips to picturesque towns with wonderful restaurants and shops. The foothills and the city of Sacramento offer different delights and all are worth seeing. Sacramento is the capital of California so this "big city" offers theater, dinning, Old Town Sacramento, museums, the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee, and the summer fun of the Music Circus. Small town theaters are great fun and can be found in Roseville, Rocklin, Nevada City and throughout the area.
Located just off Highway 65 allowing an easy drive to all services such as shopping, restaurants, and the magnificent Roseville Galleria super mall featuring Nordstrom, Macy's and numerous other stores. Just across Highway 65 from the mall is a large development of discount stores like Costco, Toys-R-Us (for those grandkids), Linen n' Things, Marshall's, World Market, and Sports Authority. Other regional malls include the Sunrise Mall in Citrus Heights, The Downtown Plaza, and the Arden Fair Mall.
Medical facilities are close by with two hospitals -- Sutter Medical and Kaiser in Roseville, UC Davis Medical Center, Sutter General Hospital, Sutter Memorial Hospital and Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento.
The entertainment in the area is outstanding. There are two new (and large) movie complexes across Highway 80, and Old Sacramento on the Sacramento River with restaurants, gift shops, the Railroad Museum, and street festivals. At the end of May every year, the Sacramento Jazz Festival brings out the crowds to hear some good jazz. Sacramento's Theater Company, Symphony and Music Circus are only three of the venues offering an opportunity to attend cultural events. The smaller theaters in the outlying communities and foothill towns also perform for your pleasure.
